Cape Cod: Busy Young Family Gets A Home Refresh In Harwich, MA
This young family of four contacted us after spending many months indoors due to the global pandemic. During that time, the organization within their home got out of hand and with two young children, it became overwhelming. Over several days, our Organizers, Cameran, Cindy, Debby and Pauline worked side by side with the family to develop a system that worked best for them.
Basement’s are typically an area we don’t spend much time in and can become a place of unorganized storage. In this families case, it also doubled as their laundry room. The idea for this space was to make it more functional and for everything to have a ‘place’. The ultimate goal was for the client to feel less overwhelmed when they went downstairs to do laundry. Cameran and Cindy began by sorting everything within the basement and worked with the family to decide what was being kept, donated or thrown away. Afterwards, they constructed plastic shelving and determined a designated area for everything that worked best for the family.
Next up was the kitchen, and for many families it can be one of the most used rooms within a home. For this family, the kitchen was in the main area of the house and became overflowed with items that didn’t necessary belong. Our Organizer, Debby, did a wonderful job reworking the space to fit the families needs and found a ‘place’ for every item, whether it was in the kitchen or some other area within the home. Any overflow items from the kitchen were placed on plastic shelving in the basement. A containerized system was also used in the kitchen cabinets and drawers to keep like items together.
Debby and Peggy then moved onto one of the most important spaces in any home, the master bedroom. Having a space to relax at the end of a long day is something that everyone needs, but it can be hard to relax if the space is cluttered. The family needed their space back and organizers, Debby and Pauline helped them to do that! They started by cleaning out the dressers and closets, sorting everything they found. This allowed the client’s to make decisions more efficiently. Ultimately, everything ended up having a ‘place’ and the family was extremely delighted how it turned out.
